I think there are some that mount just under the front seat with a bracket, out of the way enough that its hard to see but convenient to grab right away

I got a nice one at Academy in the fishing/boating department. It is a Marine type that has some kind of powder that doesn't make that melted on mess that a lot of others make. It was less than $25.00

We almost lost a friends 87 when the starter +cable was shorted to gnd.
Burnt the sh*t outta our hands trying to move the cable away from the problem.
Damage was light but replacing the cable would have been much easier and cheaper.

My "bracket" consists of two velcro ties. If I need the extinguisher, I'll just pull it out (quickly).
And, yeah, if you don't have an extinguisher in your Vette, you need one.
Lol every engine fire Ive rolled up on and tried extinguishing the fire extinguisher has never put them out. Im talking full size ones not the dinky under seat ones. They help keep the fire at bay until you run out of powder. Besides when the FD arrives you had better hope you have flood insurance.

I have a fire extinguisher in back, a tool kit including a battery wrench, a pair of heavy side cutters, a battery cutoff wired in with a simple twist switch and heavy gauge cables. Not much more I can think of other than having a Halon system in the car but that's a bit silly and definitely out of my price range.
