I'm on Amazon right now looking for a small fire extinguisher!

I think there are some that mount just under the front seat with a bracket, out of the way enough that its hard to see but convenient to grab right away

That is one hell of a stereotypical 1980s c4 owner to me.

Clean car though, love those wheels.

I got a nice one at Academy in the fishing/boating department. It is a Marine type that has some kind of powder that doesn't make that melted on mess that a lot of others make. It was less than $25.00

No sense of urgency in that picture of any attempt at putting the fire out.

Every early C4 owner here should have a fire extinguisher and a battery cable cutter or battery terminal wrench always in the car.
Too many stories posted her over the years of C4's burning to the ground.

We almost lost a friends 87 when the starter +cable was shorted to gnd.
Burnt the sh*t outta our hands trying to move the cable away from the problem.
Damage was light but replacing the cable would have been much easier and cheaper.

Same thing happened to me. That cable gets hot, quick!

My "bracket" consists of two velcro ties. If I need the extinguisher, I'll just pull it out (quickly).

And, yeah, if you don't have an extinguisher in your Vette, you need one.

Lol every engine fire Ive rolled up on and tried extinguishing the fire extinguisher has never put them out. Im talking full size ones not the dinky under seat ones. They help keep the fire at bay until you run out of powder. Besides when the FD arrives you had better hope you have flood insurance.

I have a fire extinguisher in back, a tool kit including a battery wrench, a pair of heavy side cutters, a battery cutoff wired in with a simple twist switch and heavy gauge cables. Not much more I can think of other than having a Halon system in the car but that's a bit silly and definitely out of my price range.

I'm sure you will. But first you should learn to ask a question that sounds like your smart, not like a four year old.

If you'd care to ask the question again? With a bit of intelligence this time.

WTF C4s are known to catch fire?? Been researching the car for months, the research picked up big time after I bought one and this never came up.

What are the top 2-3 causes, like specific parts one should check often?
