I did a swap in a 86 and the gauges were controlled by the sensors and not the computer. I ran dual sensors for the car temp gauges, and LS standalone computer. The LS computer controlled the fan si it needed the coolant temp.

thanks. What about the information center indicater warning lights?

MPG reading is lost. The car also lost the abs function since the factory computer was disconnected. Connected the check engine light to the LS computer so that worked still, as well as the other warning lights. I put the OBD 2 connector in place of the OBD1 one so normal scanner hook up.
