Default Altertnator Help

Hi All,
I have a question about Alternators perhaps someone here knows the answers.
My 1993 Has the RPO code KW2 referring to an Optional Alternator of 124 Amps.
Before I bought my car the Alternator was changed. It is a Delco rebuilt, I am not sure of the Amps Output and I do not have confidence in Rebuilts even though I have heard better reviews of Delco.
I would like to locate an original 124 AMP or a CS144. I most probably will have to change the Pulley since my car uses the double sided belt.
Any advise?
thanks

Would this post be better in the Tech/Performance area?

I'd think that the replacement is a CS144 and if it's a ACD there's likely a label on the product with a part# that could be used to ID what it's "thought to be"! I don't know that I'd rush to do a buy but maybe if an OE 1102634 surfaced (that would be OE for the 124AMP) cheap maybe you buy OR more preferred I'd think a 140AMP from a later C4, 10480138 or 0139, 10480200 & 10480202 are thought to be accurate OE. There should be no need to do anything with the pulley but it would be maybe dependent upon what you buy.

That does help WVZR-1,
I think I am going to look around for one of the ones you mentioned. Perhaps here on the Forum. I just don't trust re-built ones.

Your car has the (CS130) alternator [130mm] W/124Amp output it is wired differently then an (CS144) alternator [144mm] w/140amp output.

You could Swap in a CS144, but would require modification.. I would buy a re-manufactured from NAPA and call it a day..

The OP should certainly have a CS144 alternator. What makes you think it's a CS130?

I'm going by his post; "My 1993 Has the RPO code KW2 referring to an Optional Alternator of 124 Amps."

The CS144 Alternator is rated at 140amps and up, where as the CS130D is rated to 170amps.. (RPO KG9) is 140amp. I think this Option was also Available, but I'm not positive..

Thanks WVZR-1 for the numbers and info. Desertmike my car has the KW2 which states it is 124 Amps, I suppose for 1993 they made it with that Amps count as well as a 140 Amp version as KG9 code with the CS144.
Upon checking after a Google search (from Royal Chevrolet parts) I learned this: the KW2 RPO Code was a CS144 124 Amp Alternator on the 1993 Corvette.
Now I have to check and see if the replacement alternator installed by the PO is in fact that. The brackets pulley and connections should be correct for a future replacement with the same one.
Thanks,

Default Update

Just Checked. The replacement Alternator is a CS144 Remy Reman.
124 Amp unit. Correct for KW2 as per RPO. So all is good.
Thanks to all who helped.
