Default Headers Headers Headers

Will L98 Headers fit on an LT-4?

What's the deal here?
Headers that are listed as LT-4 specific are SO EXPENSIVE.

Can I keep all of my emissions stuff? Gotta stay compliant for 4 more years

Im pretty sure that the port size is different and that the 98 headers won't seal up around them.....but Im not 100%

Move out of Cobb county and you can forget about the emissions stuff! A little farther north or west will do the trick.

well, the headers will bolt up with no issues...its the emissions connections that will screw you. emissions fitting for the l-98 are completely different from the lt1. I purchased a set of stainless works headers for a 96 lt4 motor through summit racing but the jig that welds the emission fittings is 15 deg off and I fought with them for months to get the headers corrected, specifically the passenger side, and then had to send it back to jet hot to get re-coated. I do not recommend them.

I know they make l98 headers without the emissions fittings on them. Wonder if you could buy the bung and weld them on yourself?

I am running a set of stepped ARH headers on my 84. They are advertised to fit 84-96 C4s.

If these are for street use, you have to buy the ones for the car in question. the AIR pump lines, starter, oil filter are different between the two engines.

Headers will bolt to the heads, its the rest of the emissions plumbing that will be in different places.

I know the intake ports are different on the LT4 head but I'm not sure about the exhaust ports. Everybody I've talked to with an LT4 that has headers, says the Melrose headers are the easiest to fit and they fit RIGHT without beating and bending. BUT... they are some of the more pricey ones too. That's why I don't have any YET!But they're on my list.

I want to do them sooner than later but that price tag means it'll probably be the opposite. I'll definitely keep Melrose in mind though.

I'm getting these for Christmas for my '84.

No E-testing for my 84 which is nice. However, if one gets pulled over and his car is missing emission pieces or they are not hooked up you can be fined. I've never been pulled over but have heard some stories about others.

Dear lord. That is far and away the best looking option. There's a set for $614 incl shipping for headers and cats.

Dang. That's awesome news. I was starting to get a little discouraged but hearing someone has them on an LT-4 is good news.
