Convertable Deck lid release button not working (HELP)
Hi,
Last night i went to put the top down on my vette. The button directly under the deck lid did nothing to release it. No clicking sound, no nothing. Luckily the button in between the seat in the storage compartment works fine so i was able to put my top up and down (albeit not as conveniently). What would cause this to happen and just as important how do i fix it. I amagine it's a solenoid problem but i can't see how i would go about replacing it. Anyone please chime in with some help.

I doubt it's the solenoid as the lid popped with the other button. I would gess that the problem is with the button that doesn't work. Take it out and check it with a multitester and make sure it is getting power. If there is power going to the switch, then the switch or the wire run from the switch to the solenoid is bad. If there is no power going to the switch, then there is a break in the wire from before the switch. Good luck, I personally HATE dealing with electrical gremlins like this.

How do i get the switch out. I also just ran out to the parking lot and discovered that there is a switch in the drivers side door as well. This also will correctly release the lid. So in effect i have two other buttons that work to allow me to open and close the lid. I like the place then one that is broken is in though from a convenience standpoint and want to fix it. I looked to see how to get this button out and i can't see a reasonable way to do it. Any ideas??
