Wondering what some of you have done to reduce dash glare. I did cover the dash area with black felt but find it looks kinda sort cheesey. I guess I could just use a dark towel and put up there when needed.
Plus, I found that the felt I did put up there reduces the heat from the sun. Ditto on my truck that has a towel cut to fit.
Opinion please!
stop using products that give it a shine. one they dry out the dash pad and cause it to crack and second they give you a glare. just a protector product

I use Mequiars Quick Interior Detailer.
It does not leave any kind of shine, just a clean like new surface.
I had been using an oil base leather treater on it. Same as been using on motorycles for years with good results/. Afraid the fade and damage was done way before I got the car 6 months ago.
Thanks for the answers and will try some of these suggestions.

Not done only because I didn't know about that. But will correct that as soon as I am able to. Probably be indisposed for a few weeks due to triple bypass surgery tomorrow. Heck to get old. LOL!
My '96 had one of those when I bought it. I thought it looked trashy so it went away. Then I discovered why shiny stuff is not good. Now I just wipe the dash off with a damp rag.
I've found that wearing polarized sunglasses makes a huge difference in that reflected glare. Some people have trouble seeing the digital dash while wearing polarized glasses but it's been no problem for me.

I have installed the "clear" UV film on the windshield and side windows to decrease the heat from the sun.
Works great and the A/C during summer is working less and cooling more.
A towel will not do anything but shade the inst cover.....

You really can't get any better uv protection then 303 protecter.
A zo6 c6 near me has a extremely light tint on his windshield, you can't even tell unless you put another car directly next to it and compare them, I'm sure it's illegal but it makes driving in the summer much better.

Really? Whats the 303 uv rating? And how can you prove it actually works?
I can place a thermometer on my instrument panel and tell you how much less the inside temp is with the film.
Temp bakes the resins out of the plastic panels, 303 is just a surface dressing that changes the finish.
