I think what 383vette was saying is that there isn't room for headers. Even custom made headers will consume more space than a log manifold. I think w/the Caddy engine, the manifolds (or headers) would need to be in the same space that the frame rails already are. The Cad engine is 6" wider, 4" longer and 8" taller than a SBC.

Saw a C4 is a San Diego Corvette show with a 502 BBC. It barely fit. I say barely because the engine was rubbing on the upper control arm on the passenger side. Add just 1/4" to it, and it would NOT fit.

A 500 Cadillac is out of the question. It would be faster, cheaper, and more HP with a LS3. A tuned up LS3 may get 550 HP naturally aspirated.

If the Cadillac swap could have fit it would have made a good feature spread for one of the buff magazines. Especially if the build included a Comp cam and custom made big aluminum heads and manifold by Brodix.

i totally agree. an lsx swap is the way i would go.

they are just done all the time.

a 500 cu inch cadillAc swap would be slower, heavy, and more expensive than an ls3.

we have had people wanting to raise and hack up c4s and use as rally cars. so there are definitely some out-of-the-box things going on here with c4s.

Modding a caddy is a waste of time and money unless you just have have one.
Better off getting a 2 bolt main truck motor and builiding that
Little compression some work to some old oval ports even a flat tappet cam you can make real good power cheap

Check out mark at Vortecpro.com best bang for the buck on these Ive seen.
Knows his BBC pretty well decent guy. Even drops it in his car and runs it for you if thats what you want.
