Default 88 35th Anniversary Edition

I recently purchased an 88 35th Anniversary Edition. Is there any way to tell the Serial Number , the plate is missing. I don't know if this could be done from the VIN.

Vin digits 12 through 17 indicate the production or serial number. This number could indicate the sequence in which a vehicle came off the assembly line. Since there is no fixed standard for this number, each manufacturer may use this number differently.

There were 2,050 35th Anniversary Edition cars made (all coupes). I don't think all of the RPO Z01 cars were made at the same time, so the last 6 digits of the VIN would not correspond to the badge number on the console plate.

It may be that the window sticker would show that build number? You can order the window sticker and the build sheet for your specific car from the National Corvette Museum

I will give that a try, I was going to order them anyway.

Thanks

I was able to finally find out the number of my 88 35th. I read an old post on another forum while during a search that recommended calling Chevrolet Customer Assistance at 1-800-222-1020. I gave them my VIN and after about 10 or 15 minutes on the phone they were able to tell me my car was number 904. I saw an old thread on CF where someone had the same issue so hope this helps someone else. I had contacted the NCM but they had no record of the sequence numbers relating to VIN numbers.

I just checked the build sheets & window stickers of my prior 35th and my current one and neither had any tie to the sequence number.

Looks like the CCA link is your best chance to resolve the issue.

I was told by the first 35th Anniversary Registry that after 35ths were made, GM had techs apply a car # plaque and write down the serial #.

My Chevy dealer told me they only go back to 1990. I wanted to know what options my 87 came with. I do know it's all original silver/black, but the carpet turned a dark green from this Arizona sun, even the seats are a greenish gray. I know it came with gray carpet because it's still somewhat gray under steering column. Just need to know what shade of gray an what color door panels. I thought I seen a post here where there is someone on here that can run numbers if I'm correct. Any suggestions?

You can get an original window sticker and build sheet from the National Corvette Museum. https://www.corvettemuseum.org/learn...ndow-stickers/. If you are not a member the build sheet is $50 and the window sticker is $100. This would have all of the info you need.
