Hi Everyone, I haven't been around in a long, long time (probably 4 - 5 years). My '81 has pretty much been in storage for a while (life just gets complicated I suppose).
I now have someone offering me a 1992 for $8,000.00 / 63K miles on it, and I think it's a pretty good deal but after pulling the carfax on it I found out that the car has been sold at least 7 times since 2001. That worries me a bit.
1- Could this be some sort of lemon? The carfax doesn't show any issues or recalls with the car.
2- Could it just be a buyer issue? I did check it out and it's a tight squeeze and a big drop into the bucket seats. Could it be victim to too many mid-life crisis owners that bought it and after a year decided it was too much work getting in and out of the car?
So what do you folk think and for the experts; has there been recalls or issues with the '92 that I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you looked at the car? If it doesn't need anything expensive and it's a clean honest car, $8000 seems like a good deal to me. I wouldn't be concerned with the number of owners. My car had 3 previous owners all of which only drove the car 14,600 miles combine. Some people just enjoy for a while then move on...
Drive the car, look over it from top to bottom. are there any maint. records? 7 owners in 17 years is alot, but unless you can actually talk to them and find out why, its hard to determine what was their reason for selling it. drive it on the back roads, get it out on the highway. you decide, listen for sounds that might for warn you of something. Also remember, 63,000 miles in a 25 year period means its been sitting alot. That could be a good thing or bad.

It's a 25 year old car, and a Corvette at that. People want Corvettes, but they don't want to live with them. They scrape, they don't insulate that well, they get attention, they require premium gas, they don't have a ton of room, and the C4 is a pain for older folks to get in and out of. They are not for everyone, and so people buy them in list and sell them quickly when reality hits.
That said, 7 times in 16 years isn't bad at all. Means average of over 2 years per person.
Sounds like a heck of a deal. I'd jump on it, especially if it's a stick.
I did jump on it and I agree, a bit of a pain getting in and out of but I figured it out. You just have to slide your butt all the way into the bucket seat and then swing your legs in. It's actually not that bad after a few times. It's an automatic; would have loved a stick but for the price it was a sweet deal for me. The wifeunit already wants to take it for a spin... I told her it would have to wait a few days...LOL... Runs great.
