I've owned over 150 cars and now have my first Vette. It is a 1996 Convertible Pace Car with 64,000 miles on it, in very good condition. I have a question. It has a metal badge on the core support under the hood
that says " Chevrolet Corvettes of Bowling Green, Ky." and I can find no reference to this. Anybody? Thanks

The badge isn't generally found on the core support but on the hood underside like zr1fred mentioned and I doubt "metal". Post an image of what your car actually has.
Is it like this?
Is it like this?

I had an '86 vert new. I believe mine had that too, I think all of them should have had it, and yes, they were all considered pace cars, not just the yellow ones they ran on the Indy track for the race.
Welcome, and enjoy your car. Don't get frustrated if something goes wrong, everything is fixable, maybe just takes some time, a little patience and diagnostic tools don't hurt either!
