I purchased this 94 C4 a few years ago and the front bumper/hood alignment has always been off. Is there any adjustment for this? I looked in the factory service manual and could not find any adjustments. It seems that the left and right corners are off and the middle will rub the hood when closing and when closed. I would like to try and repair this myself but if i need to send to a body shop thats fine.
Anbody have any ideas on how this can be adjusted?
this is the only thing I know that has a step-by-step guide w/ pics. hard copy or CD format is available. try www.glas-ra.com, or google "corvette body repair guide" - several vendors -
BTW - have similar (hood/bumper/doors) alignment issues on my 85 - just not quite right. on the to-do list....
I'm a little surprised that you haven't received any suggestions on this problem yet. Your '94 is probably a bit different than my '84, but maybe this will help: There are four bolts that support the main bumper structure. These bolts are in slots that you can't see, but by loosening these bolts, the bumper structure can be moved vertically or sideways. There is another bolt directly below this one.
To move the structure forward, there are shims on these bolts between the frame rail and the bumper structure.

DUB maybe help with this. It looks like car bumped something and bumper cover was polished or painted. I suspect absorber is crushed a little. Just shimming the ends isn't going to correct the problem. I would remove bumper and see what's what. You may need to shim absorber in the center between the reinforcement.
