I've always been a fan of "minimalist". The manufacturers spend millions of $$$ to get things right and then some nimrod buys a $50 spoiler, air dam or some other doodad to dress it up. I understand ground effects and air management but slapping these el cheapo on a nicely done work of art, like a C4 just "grinds my beans". It drives me nuts to open a Mid America or Corvette Central catalog and see this phony crap in there. Gotta remember B-U-T is in the "I" of the bee holder.
I had a '50 shoebox from '09 to '13 - bought a '78 vette - traded it in '14 for a '52 Ford Customline - last year traded it for my '94 C4 - by far the best car I've owned - but I still miss the '23 TBucket (powered by '67 vette 327) & 4 sp!! I got it in '03.
The first C4 and the C3 were typical for the times. Now that they are classics the pureists don't like them. Back in the day they were cool. The C3 may have been in a magazine. The white one is way over done even for back then. Myself I don't care for the C 4 fenders and surprised there aren't A/M decent looking ones out there. I like the Callaways but they are really available.
Every Corvette whispers "look at me," although the C4 is the least guilty of them all. Put that much bling on any Corvette and it just looks desperate.
This car is awful. It looks like a hooker dressed up in bowling ball size ***** and puffy pink lips and 4-inch glittery fingernails. There's still a slight bit of charm I guess... but still no thank you.
Car for me has way to much going on but not my car. Some guys hate yellow vettes, some guys hate red vettes who cares. I personally don't like the early c4 rims, just a preference.
If that car was parked somewhere I would definately go and look at it and i would guess the owner is looking for attention so it works for him. Before I bought my C4 i didn't like them because they are so non descript, you can't say that about that car.
A one time co-worker had an 85 with one of those small hood wings on it they were trying to sell. Sorry but I never liked it and suggested they have it removed and the holes filled. Thing is, that one was not as near gaudy as the white one in the above.
Far beyond desperate! Usually I have the approach of "to each their own" -- go ahead and dress up your car however you want, it's your property-- but that one is completely mental.
