When I started her up the low oil light stayed on. THis happened before but I didn't know when the oil was changed so I changed it. Hadn't happened since. This morning it came on again  . I checked the oil level and it look fine. The oil pressure at idol when warm is abot 45-50psi. I have no other ideas except maybe a short. Anyone have a clue?
Ignore it as just an oversensitive sensor. Oil level must be dead on or light trips. Always verify with dipstick to be safe.
Turn ignition to the on position w/out starting car and see if light comes on. If it does, turn ignition off and then back to the on position. Light shouldn't come on the next time.
Mine comes on all the time too, when level is just a wee ounce or so low.
Replace the sensor. Mine was broken and would come on when I started it up. If I turned it off and started it back, it would go off. There's a scheme to how it logically makes this happen. Replacing the sending unit fixed my problem, and on a friend's 95 Z-28 that had the exact same problem.
After I fixed it I still had an oil leak so I was spewing oil everywhere. My low oil light came on eventually, it was a quart low! So, if it's working properly you won't see the light until it really is low.
For $30 you can have it fixed and you can really believe the light next time.
If your sending unit is original it can be a little difficult to unhook the connector, but nothing too bad. A 15 minute job to do along with an oil change. No big deal.
I spent the $36 GM dollars to replace mine as well with no good result. Still comes on when oil is at the full mark on the dipstick. I'm not going to over fill my oil pan to satisfy some goofy sensor designed for people too lazy to check the oil level the old fashioned way (by lifting the hood).
Replace yours at the next oil change and see if it changes.
Well that sucks. Is your wiring harness damaged somewhere maybe? I agree that people shouldn't rely on sensors to tell them how much oil they have, but it just irritates the crap out of me having all these extra lights on all the time.

is there a fuse I could take out to turn off the sensor? I check my oil level with every gas fillup anyway. I am very **** about my oil levels.
