No, there are 4 different hoods depending on the year. 1984 hoods (the shell) is unique. 85-87 are common. 88-91 (part year) are common. 91 (part year) to 96 are common.
As for putting a scoop on the hood, not that you want my opinion, but most look awful. I'd keep the stock hood.

How do you tell them apart? Any identifying marks/numbers/features?
The above link to that site. Very informative. Learned things I didn't know. In the end, best hood to find is 92-96 as it fits all. (Except if you have an 84 that you are leaving stock)
1. What are you doing to the engine that requires a hood scoop?
2. If you buy a new hood with a rise in the center, it can look OK - in fact, some can look downright mean. But a grafted on hood scoop will always look like bubba made the modification.
faux grill is bolted in.. removal sends air directly into engine bay. I was able to install it with factory bracing undisturbed.. used HD smc to mold it in.
