Ordered new carpet!

I just did this on my 89 coupt too. The seats are an easy removal. 4 bolts. You'll need a deep socket for the rear bolts. You will need to take the bottom cusion out of each seat to unplug the power to the seat. Also remembr the drivers seat has the seatbelt circuit, so you'll need to take that out. You will also need to remove the seatbelt roller/cincher on the sill. Most of the carpet is lay in. It reall doesn't move once it's in place. Some you will need to glue. I used hot glue and contact cement. The pieces are a great fit. I had some plastic backed sills before, so i pulled the carpet off of those, and put the new carpet on the plastic. I had to trim the sill carpet for that.
The new carpet will have no screw holes, so you'll need to mark those. I found haveing a pocket knife handy was great for the quick hole making.
If at first the carpet doesn't appear to fit, check how you put it in, and try again. The pieces should fit really well.
The tunnel will probably be the most difficult piece to replace as the plastic is thin, and the glue is pretty strong. Hot glue here worked ok. I used contact cement for the knee bump pads in the driver and passenger compartment. I was not able to reemove the passenger compartment knee bump pad, so I just worked upside down.
You could do the whole install in a day, but it's best to spread it out over a weekend. Good luck, you're going to love your new carpet.
The biggest tip I can give you is for the console carpet (either side of the tunnel)...you need to remove most of the center console to "lift" the faceplate that goes around the stereo and heater controls...there is one screw on either side of the stereo holding that carpet in place...and it's sort of hidden.
Corvette Fever in (I think) October of last year had a picture by picture install instructions for a C4...it helped me!
ACC carpet fits very well and mine did have a majority of screw holes (that's who MAD resells)...I used a punch for the holes that were missing (cleaner holes).
*edit*
Oh ya...one more tip...remove all seat nuts before unplugging the seats, one controls the other and if you need to raise a seat to get a wrench in and you've removed a wire...you're hosed!
Good luck!

Custom made by a friend of a friend...we butchered the original sport seat foam and made a combo of old British racing seats/Z06 seats.
They turned out great...unfortunately the guy who did them is swamped with work and hasn't returned a call all summer...a couple of folks asked if he would do their seats too...no dice!
