headlight problems

headlight problems
My C4 drivers side headlight is working but when I turn on or off the headlight makes a popping sound and the actuator arm moves causing the noise. Do I need to replace the motor or is there something else that's broken. This popping noise eventually stops and both headlights open and close

You can disconnect the neutral motor wire at the connector. Then just use the manual dial on the motors. I keep mine down in the summer and up in the winter.

Or if you've got a 1988 or up, get a bushing repair kit.
