I have a 93 convertible. It has a hard top, but it's not on at the moment. The tops have pretty new weather stripping. I've owned the car since it was a year old. It has always had a slight air leak at the top front of the window on the passenger side. Over the years the air leak has turned into a pretty good water leak. I've tried different things, but can't seem to fix the problem. The top front edge of the window does not appear to be sealing against the weather stripping tight enough. It's like the glass is bowed out right there, leaving a small gap right past where the top of window goes from horizontal to angling down toward the mirror. (Between the glass and windshield post). Does anyone know how to tighten this up? I don't know if it's the door, window, windshield post etc. I've tried just about everything without any luck. The water leaks in and drains right down into the speaker and floorboard. Not that I do it, but driving in the rain is out of the question. I will say I also have trouble with the door panel window striping on that side. If I thought it was possible, I would think the door glass is warped on it. Thanks
Over time weather stripping becomes less "malleable" and tends to flatten and harden. You said the weatherstripping is relatively new. Who put it on? Was it done right? Weatherstripping can vary vastly in quality as well. Was it good quality?
It's your window pitch that's off. There is an adjustment inside the door that adjusts the angle of the glass. I had same issue as you and on Monday I adjusted the window. No more air or water leak. Look on you-tube under C4 window alignment. Mine in a '95 so it was a little different then video.
