I can never get my question answered by using the built-in search... rarely does it work well... But, if I put the question in google this is the first site listed with usually the exact problem and solution....

hey guys, i just signed up over the weekend (long time reader) and wow, i didnt expect to see all the tools here...i expected a community that shared a passion and all tried to give advice when needed.
I've already come across some major tools. The guy that's never wrong and has to have the last word, the guy that's thinks if you don't have an equal car to him your a scrub...the guy that has nothing nice to say to anybody unless they are agreeing with him.
please tell me there is hope!!!

Just remember internet forums are where people will share their experience, and their opinions. (There is very little face-to-face contact between members so people feel especially safe to say things they would never say in person.) Some posts will be on point and helpful, some will be way out of left field, and others will be prickly know it all douchebags all the time, they just want to watch the world burn. It takes all kinds.
So... this is very true:
I would love to see an internet forum that's auto-related where people never bring their egos and never get into pissing contests just to feel better than everyone else. It just isn't going to happen. I bet the Prius forums have plenty of douchebags too.

I have found that using the advanced search and only selecting the areas where my question is likely to be answered makes for a more successful search.
