they might, depends on condition and mileage I guess to determine the value of the car, my guess would be yes from what I could see. it doesn't take much to total these cars since there value is so low.

Sorry about the car, though. That sucks.

Truly sorry for you. With that much damage to the hood alone my guess would be a total loss.
If you are handy, you could get it back. But there are some nice ones showing up online.
All the best.

Is it fixable - looks that way. Is it totaled, could be. I suspect if the damage exceeds 75% of the value of the car they'll total it.

If you're handy, you likely could buy it back from the ins co and repair it. Remember though you'd have a salvage title and some companies won't insure salvaged vehicles.

Good luck.

After they set the value of the car, they'll offer you a price to buy it back. I dont think all insurance companies offer that though.

I would buy it buy it back but offer less than what they're asking for bc it seems hoods are pretty expensive. They should be willing to haggle bc Im sure they'll get a lot less than their asking price from an auction place or salvage yard.

Thats the only thing that really sucks about these cars! Totaled easily

were you in it at the time ?

always claim you are injured even if you arent. it will make them up the check amt in hopes you (and potential medical bills) will 'go away' once you cash that check.

I just had the same scenario with my 96 but he caved in my right headlight as well. They fixed mine with 3 grand in damages and labor to fix it. But both me and the body shop manager thought it'd be totaled and were surprised it got fixed

Might not be a good idea if you end up with a salvage title.

Did yours have the front bumper support bolts ripped right out of the front cross brace?

OMG Bummer. Insurance Co will only pay you on the first go around for visible damage up to Ins Co value. After car is in body shop and additional non visible damage is found the body shop will submit an estimate for additional repairs to the Ins Co.

This is where/how I lost my car to the insurance Co. The initial visible estimate was under the total value. The hidden damage brought the repair costs over the value. The Insurance would not pay one penny over value even though the car was 1/4 repaired and taken apart. My only option was to receive a check for the balance up to total value and they took the car and would not sell it back to me. PLUS!!! I had to pay the Autobody shop for all the work they did taking the vehicle apart. I got screwed big time.

Tell the insurance company your head, back and rear end hurt from the accident.
