Default Rear Hatch release

Hey all over the last few days the rear glass release has quit working in my 1988 Vette. Is there a manual release and what do you think went bad.........I can hear a faint pop when I hit the release button ( Same with all buttons) but it does not open. Could it be a relay or the release actuator?

Thanks

If you crawl back into the hatch there is a manual release cable, but it is short and doesn't have a handle. Have a good pair of pliers with you to pull the cable. Once you have it open it should be easier to determine the problem. At least I think your '88 has one.

Just a humble suggestion. When you find the tab for the release cable, tie an extension cord/string to it so that it can be pulled from the door, rather than crawling inside.
