In 1989, were the side mirror wind deflectors an option that could be ordered from the factory, or are all the ones out there "after market" pieces? I am preparing my car for Blooming Gold Survivor judging and do not want extra things that did not come from the factory. Thanks.
Thanks for your reply. At least these deflectors are one thing I do not have to remove from my vert before judging. It is amazing how much after market stuff is added by previous owners, and I am the 5th owner.
in regards to what. from what I can remember from my dads old 91 convertible with the top down and windows down the wind noise was reduced compared to my 94 coupe

So you know how they perform in a vert but not a coupe - correct - I have a coupe - would there be an improvement ??
added them on my 92 coupe last year and they keep the wind from slipping between the 'A' pillar and the mirror and hitting you square in the left eye on those days that don't require sunglasses ... not sure about wind noise
Yes they do work. I put a set my 88 coupe. Air coming in to the open window would deflect off the outside mirror and would hit the left side of my face. With the deflectors on, that doesn't happen any more.

My old '87 coupe had factory deflectors but my '93 does not. I will be adding them as they do help a bunch with both wind noise and stopping airflow right at me when driving.
