Engine/Transmission Maintenance
) Anyways, I plan on separating the transmission from the engine soon to replace the flywheel and clutch. How difficult is it to remove the motor with the transmission separated? Also, it looks like the motor can be removed without breaking the A/C system apart. (Don't want to break is apart because it blows really cold and its still an R-12 system) Also, might be looking to sell the car, so if I pull the motor what should be replaced? If I pull the motor I was planning on changing the front and rear main seals, the valve cover gaskets, the head gaskets, the valve stem seals, and probably the oil pan gasket. The water pump drive seal and the optispark seal are roughly 4 months old, so those will probably stay. If the motor cannot be removed, how hard is it to replace the front main seal with the motor in the car? How did y'all get the hub removed so you could replace the seal? All the parts that I have looked at seem too big to fit.Thanks guys!
