Default 1994 Vette Engine Reinstalled

So I just put my 383 back in.

Strange problem? I noticed the serpentine belt is rubbing against part of the upper control arm.

It seems the engine is sitting 1/2 to 1 inch too long in the chasis.

How possible? No clue. I will post pics below if the folks of this forum so allows.

Oh the mounts are new and seem correct. Passenger side motor mount stud does not come thru as long as the drivers side.

Any help is truly appreciated.

thanks

C.J.
Serpentine belt rubbing against upper control arm bracket

Header up against the fan or heater control box

Removed nut from motor mount, Drivers side I think

Nut removed #2 from drivers side mount. About 3/4 of an inch of stud remaining. Engine slightly jacked up

Here about an inch of stud, drivers side

Motor mount top view

Pass side. has that odd shim with the hole under the biscuit

Plug in the head where I think a temp sensor goes. But not sure

My car doesn't have mounts like that so question for you, are you sure the mounts are on the correct side? Can they be swapped from side to side? Is the engine bolted to the trans and C beam?

Raidmagic, thanks for your response. The mounts themselves are supposed to be identical. However the mounting brackets are labeled RH & LH. At this point Sunday, I have not had a chance to check the mounting plates. Monday I hope to. You said your car has different mounts. Yours is an L98 Vette? Again thanks.

yeah mine is an L98 car but I've LS swapped it. My mounts are different from yours stock and with the LS swap. While mine look identical they are not reversable. There are little ears on them that won't allow the clamshell mount to go all the way down if they are reversed. Again. Different from yours but might be the same issue. Also do you have the Trans and C beam bolted up?

Raid is correct. The LT1 mounts have a little alignment dowel on them. If the mount is installed incorrectly, the dowel will not drop into the slot in the engine support mount.

Looks like maybe the engine isn't fully seated in the cradle.
