Enjoy it! C5 waves are few and far between here. They usually give me the "I don't know you" look. The "wave" should have its own section in the owner's manual, including that its ok to wave to other generations.

 I'd like to see that included in the C6 owner's manual
Dude. I really think this. C5 owners primarly buy them because of what it stand for. Us C4 owners buy them because we love the Vette! itself.
Plus if you spend 40k on a car you car going to be older and more settled in your ways. Naturally, younger people drive C4's and drive them because they love the car not because it's a status symbol or they couldn't get one while their kids were living at home.
I got a C5 wave last tuesday but that was because as i was passing him, i starred and waved until he waved back. He looked very confused  . I guess he didn't know about the wave. Hell when i am not in my vette i find myself holding back on the wave
the other day i got 3 waves back to back from all z06's! i pulled up to a stoplight that had 3 z06's. they weren't even together either. it was just sheer coincidence. there's only one in my town. the other two had california plates.
You guys crack me up! You're getting (already been?) paranoid about this wave stuff. C4 drivers are just as ignorant about it as everyone else. When I owned a C4, some C5's waved back and some didn't and the same applied to the fellow C4 drivers. My personal observations on the subject is the C3 guys are the problem but I don't sweat it. With those front fenders and little back window they do have "tunnel vision". Forgive them. :seeya :seeya :seeya

A month ago I got a wave from this guy driving a C3. What a feeling it is to have other Corvette drivers wave. Especially if its from the older generations. :)

I always wave! :seeya
The only group that, in my experience, always wave back are the C1 and C2 owners. Plenty of non-responses from ALL of the other groups. Even had a ZR1 driver refuse to acknowledge my existance yesterday while in my '92!

Here in So Cal the C5s out number all others about 5 to 1. Consequently the vast majority of waves I get are in fact from C5s. The very first 3 waves I got after buying my vette were from C5s. Last week I got my very first EVER C3 wave so i might tend to agree with you. Its our fellow C4 owners I think are slow to pick up on it around here.... :blueangel:
Caught a C5 and a C3 wave this morning. I think some of the time the other driver just does'nt see you in time, happens to me occasionally. I find that most will wave, other than older women driving C5's
