Looking to do a flywheel and clutch replacement in the near future and was wondering what are some good/wallet friendly single mass flywheels and clutch to go with it.

"Wallet friendly" is always a relative thing, so I don't know what your budget is. I went with a Spec extra-weight billet steel SMF and their Stage 2 clutch kit when I yanked the cooked OEM setup out of my '94 a few years ago. The extra-weight SMF seems to have kept the gear rattle down to where it's barely noticeable on my car, which pleases me. My only gripe about the entire setup is that the clutch chatters when it's stone-cold. After just a bit of warm-up, it's nice and smooth. It may be something peculiar to my car, and I'm not suggesting they all do this. Aside from that, I'm 100% satisfied with the choice I made so far.
Whatever you choose to do, just be aware that if you ditch the DMF, you will need a sprung-hub clutch disc to go with the SMF you use. It's probably wise to buy the whole works from the same source, to improve the odds that it all functions together as it should.

Thanks for the reply,
wallet friendly fir me me would be 600-700 max since I'm still in college. If you don't mind me asking how much did your setup cost?
When I had the L98 in my 89 I was using a McLeod single disc and with my Lingenfelter 427 SBC I am using the McLeod twin-piston. The McLeod single disc setup was with an aluminum flywheel and the OEM pull actuator.

I'm not sure how helpful it will be to know this, but back in 2010 the whole kit cost me just under $800. That was nearly 7 years ago, so I'd suggest you call Spec and inquire what today's price would be. I did the job myself, so there was no labor expense.
The 422Y Stage 2 kit included the SMF, disc, pressure plate, release bearing, flywheel bolts, pressure plate bolts, pilot bearing and alignment tool.

Thanks! I'll be doing it myself as well. Saves a lot of money.
