Default Dumb question..

I have an 84 corvette with a stickshift, its pretty rough and ALL the letters are worn off the center console.

Were is the OD switch?

I THINK its the switch near the drivers window switch, it looks like a toggle switch but it only wants to rock one way, not both ways.

Id doesnt seem to do anything to the car, so I want to make sure that's the right switch so I can look into it if something is broken.

On an '85 the OD "off" switch is either located on top of the gearshift lever or on the center console. The OFF position keeps the trans from shifting in/out of OD. Otherwise it decides for itself. Can't tell you if the '84 is the same or not.
