So I am still replacing my carpet and would like to know what to do with the transmission tunnel. Specifically should I try and use the same cement over again which is already on the plastic tunnel shroud or remove it and replace the beads with new adhesive? If the latter is the case then what adhesive should I get? Will a caulk that remains pliable work? Or can I get the same stuff on line or in a store? Thanks to all that reply.

3M website will have some suggestions, OR a local auto body shop supply store can fix you up. Getting the old adhesive off...is going to be the trick! (Ask me how I know...)

I've always used spray adhesive and hot melt glue. If you are referring to that gooey stuff, that needs to come off, especially around the edges.
