well, here I am again looking for a weather strip kit or a couple pieces to get me by after purchasing a kit 2 years ago. from Wilcox corvette.

the a-pillar from the top pin to the lower pins did not fit correctly, the b-pillar is hollow where the window seals vs solid for the gm piece, the drivers door would not close and the door ajar light stayed on, and the rear hatch corners split within a month of install and the glass never was closed on it.

so I have been searching the forum for what everyone has had experience with, either pleased or displeased, and Wilcox comes in as one of the favorites so i'm looking deeper into yours vs a couple other brands/venders. it seems that Wilcox is now using crc ( corvette rubber co ) for their weather stripping kits and that is where I have a few questions as I don't want to get snake bit twice. there is no information about their weather stripping on their website.

1. is crc the same brand you used two years ago only with the addition of the rear hatch which is made in the usa?
2. is the b-pillar a hollow tube compared to a solid piece?
3. is the material EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) Rubber?
4. is there any warranty?

any information you can give concerning the actual product itself would help me making my decision on who I purchase my new kit from.

CRC brand is the only brand I will install in my shop. Some changes have been made to the B pillar weatherstrip in the last two years and I've not had any issue with the fitment of this part. In fact, we did an installation video on the B pillar on YouTube. The rear hatch is CRC brand now, and while the corners don't look perfect, they don't split like the old version that came in the kit and they work. The rear hatch is USA made now. If your only issue with the old rear hatch is the corners split, you can glue it back together with a small amount of Super Glue Gel. Even the original GM hatch weatherstrips split in the corners and before the reproductions came we used to do this trick to customers cars as a courtesy in the shop.

The EPDM weatherstripping that was being produced was imported and it had a horrible history of sticking to the glass. It was nothing like the OEM weatherstripping...

The warranty is 1 year from the date of purchase.
