Default Thermostat Advice

Purchased new GMP fan switch 185-170 rating. What thermostat would be compatible?

Having to place switch in Edelbrock Performer manifold instead of head. Whats the best place to find a 1/2 male- 3/8 female bushing npt fitting besides Lowes and Home Depot?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Use a factory rated t-stat.
And read the stickies about purging/burping the system.

Seems like a stock 180 thermostat would have the fans running almost all the time with that low temp switch. Most hardware stores should have that fitting, in brass would be best.

I live in the South. Very hot. Big box fittings do not work with this switch. It's rather long. Ordered new fitting from Summit yesterday. Trying to choose between 160 and 180 thermostat.

I ordered a 180 deg thermostat from Ecklers. It is GREAT. My 1996 base with only 27,000 miles was running at 213 deg on the highway in 70 temp. It now pegs at 194. The weird thing is it seems to know the future. Running 60 mph and at 194 deg and slow down quick to 25 mph the temp stays at 194. It goes up to 203 in stop and go when 95 deg outside. I have to believe this is a better thermostat than made in 1996. What else has not changed in the last 21 years. Something is way better. Dan
