96 LT4 opinions
the other day I grabbed a 96 LT4 6 speed for $X,XXX (screw you, I won't tell a potential buyer what I paid lol). It was from a friend he said give me that many dollars and if you sell it for more then you do you. If you can't sell I'll give you your dollars back or you can part it out and keep all dollars.
So I of course took this deal. He first told me it had 70k miles.. it turned out to have 129k after I went through the hassle of taking the battery out of my 90 and putting it in the 96... you've done it... you get the pain. Shot 1.
Shot 2. It has some mold on the interior. Pics below and in the parts section. I think I can clean it up. I'm away on a business trip so... we'll see.
Shot 3. I cranked it over to try and start it but the battery I put in it only had a 10.4v charge... My bad. I haven't drove my 90 in a while.
I'm gonna post pictures of this car and I would like to see honest opinions. If you had this car would you...
A) Sell as is to make your money back or a slight profit to get the time you put in it back. Also if so what do you think it's worth.
B) Clean it up. Then try and sell it for whatever it is worth.... Do you think it can be cleaned up? Is it too far gone?
C) Part it out! It has LT4, ZF6, D44, sport seats, fx3, blaa, blaa, blaa...
I'm about to post pictures.

Yes the 90 is cover with a tarp. I have another project in the garage and I don't want excessive heat on the interior... It's fragile enough guys!.
but ya. What would you do. I think there is a lot of money to be made on parting it. But I really like it.

I hate @#$% mice, had to take my interior apart one year to deal with them getting in over a winter! Thankfully it's not too hard of a job to do on the late model C4's.
If youre not in love wiht it detail the hell out of it flip your way out move on to something that is ready to go.
with that much moisture in the interior id worry about electronics giving you headaches later.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
For almost no cost, try cleaning, polishing, waxing, protectant/leather conditioner, change the fluids, etc. Then take another look at it. From what I see, just doing that would make it look a lot better and probably pretty nice.
I bought a '96 CE LT4 as a project to do a little work on and then probably sell. I did the work and found I like driving it. Now I am changing my mind and think I will keep it.
Like others have said, it is a pretty limited number of cars like that and it would be a shame to part it out.
That's assuming you don't wanna keep it. Personally I would keep that one and sell the 90
