I have a plastic rear window on my top and its only 2 years old. I replaced the old one because the plastic window was yellowish and faded but the top was still good. I wanted to replace just the plastic but I was told that it couldn't be done. So I had to dump a grand on a brand new top. The installation was kinda crappy, IMO, but the rear window is just starting to get messed up again because of this AZ heat. I put a cover on it every chance I get but the heat is getting to it. The damn ASU campus police don't help any because they remove the top to see if I have a parking sticker and don't know how to put the top back on or just don't want to (I'm gonna get those bastages in the act of doing it nexttime). Rather than wait for it to happen, I was wondering if it would be possible to replace the window/top with one that has glass in it. I've heard of retro kits that will allow for glass to be installed but I haven't seen any anywhere. Do they exist at all and if so, where can I get them? Also, if I got glass, could I get redefroster on it hooked up like on the 94-96's?

Re: Plastic -> Glass? (Lord Odin)
Im sure it can be done. If worse comes to worse I have a good friend here thats a professional upholsterer, mostly for show cars, that Im sure could do that for you. (I live about 4 hrs from the Az-Ca border) He did custom seats for my last fun car, a '72 el camino, and will be doing custom seats for my vette too.
Yes they do. Was in mid america catalog. Dont know the price...plenty im sure and sure you can hook up rear defogger. Ill post how exactly soon since i got a hard top.
