Default 95 targa top

My new to me 95 has the blue tint targa top, but has a stress mark from what appears to be where the previous owner, my father-in-law, over tightened one of the front bolts. What are my options for a replacement without spending almost a grand for a new one? Thanks

I see this all the time, Try to loosen the front bolts and let it set in the sun awhile, just be sure to tighten them back up before you drive!!

Thanks, I'll try it. Just replaced the weather stripping along the windshield/ A-pillars so it's a snug fit right now too.

If the fit of your new weatherstrip is too tight, you may need to adjust the front header brackets. You'll notice that the weatherstrip pushes up on the acrylic material of your top. Too much pressure can cause problems! You should be able to tighten the bolts until you get metal-to-metal contact with your top frame, but not require so much torque that you over-stress the acrylic!

The header brackets are under the plastic trim piece, above your windshield.

You are tightening the rear bolts first, then the front bolts, right?

Roy, the stress mark was in the top prior to my replacing the weather stripping. When I re-installed the top, I tightened the rear bolts first, wasn't sure the process, but made most sense to me. Thanks

If you don't care about the "see thru" effect of the top, then consider a vinyl wrap.

That is the plan since the acrylic already looks flaky.
