ok, Ill deliver the bad news - no. The 85 uses the '870 ecm and the 86 and later uses the '165 ecm, the looms are slightly different so it wont work.
If you need a tune then it doesnt matter which one you use anyway.
there are still some people around (not many) who can burn an 85 chip.
or consider a Dynamic efi - http://www.dynamicefi.com/EBL_Flash.php
can i put a1987 ecm computer in a 1985 corvette. reason is motor was rebuilt to 383 stroker now i can not set old computer to this motor.
Hi
You only need to calibrate the MAF table increase it by 10% for a 383 engine, I use Tunerpro and a moates ostrich emulator to do it myself.
It is a steep leaning curve to use tunerpro, always make do a backup !!
I still run the 85 ECM with my 383.
The other option is to get your MAF calibrated for the 383 engine and larger injectors.
Putting a 1227165 ('86 - '89) ECM in an '85 is a pretty common modification. There are several web sites that will tell you how to do it. It's mostly moving some wires to different positions in the ECM connectors.
