Have 96 LT4, went to car show the other day, parked and left for about 3 hr. came back and nothing no click no lites nothing. was running fine before that. Found someone to give us a jump with one of those jump starters and turned right over. On the way home gauges looked ok volts were 14.1, so alt. seemed ok charging ok, everything seemed fine. Got it in garage shut it off and there is a ticking sound on the pass. side, tried to start it and nothing, no lites,no nothing, ticking sound was gone, but when turned off nothing again but ticking sound. Thought it might be battery and put on charger, but was fully charged. Disconnected battery for the nite hoping it might reset what ever. Hooked it back up,tried to start and nothing just ticking sound. Now it's disconnected, thought I"d see what ideas are out there before I take it to mechanic. I don't do much with cars, oil filter lube and clean are about it. 80,800 mi...thoughts?

1st check battery. If it started with a jumper it is most likely your battery.

Battery or cable connections to the battery. Make sure your connections are clean and tight.
