The top of door panel "hooks" over door frame. There are several screws that hold panel on. The molded plastic that loops over top of door frame is probably broken .

So... How are your rubber window "sweeps?"

I ask as if your door is coming off (as it will) for you to re hang it, you are half of the way done on doing a new set of window sweeps.

I did mine about 2 months ago. Not a bad job and once your panel is off, you are only looking at an additional 45 minutes.

I think I now know the answer to my question from almost 3 years ago when I bought my 94. After I had it awhile I noticed two screws in the drivers door panel, upper right corner in the coped area at the dash. Now I know what the previous owner did to it. I have to remove the panel to replace window sweep, look at window regulator. After I find a replacement door panel, hard to live with it and have others think I did that to the car.
