Default A/C advice

My brother in law has a 1994 C4. He was telling me that his A/C was'nt working. He also stated that he was told that it is controlled by the computer. I am not familiar with the 1994 c4 but I am pretty good with my 1987 C4. My a/c works fine and I do the work on it myself. I don't want to give him incorrect info on his car... butt does anyone know if the computer can be the problem. thanks, gary

I'm sure there's some control there depending on the climate control system type. Always best to check the basics first... put a manifold on it and check the pressures, compressor, etc... When I had an issue with the A/C in my 95 C4 it was low freon pressure and I just need to top it off and monitor. The low pressure valve is notoriously weak and can leak (which it did in my case).

Default thanks

Thanks for the reply.. I suspect it is low freon and the low pressure switch has it locked out.. I have all the tools to work on it.. I told him to bring it by. Thanks again, gary
