Default Need Tires

I have a 95' convertible with low miles but needs new tires what would you suggest?

I only drive a few hundred miles a year and have toyed with trying to get it bloomington gold certified one day.

Thanks in advance

The date code on the current tires is 05, next season I need some new skins. Was quoted $257 per tire (Michelins). The place is a performance tire shop. So I'm looking at over $1k. That's all I know at this point.

Like many others here, I'm a fan of Nitto NT555. Got about 2k miles on them so far, probably will get about 3k in use each year. Ride nice, look good.

Sumitomos are around 500ish for 4
They drive just fine, never had one go bad...had a few sets no complaints-from city hwy and hard canyon driving was pretty satisified overall.

By the time your tires are 4-5 yrs old they are starting to get hard so spending 2-300 a tire doesnt seem worth it unless you got it to blow.

They arent the worst nor the best;if you want higher quality Conti is something to consider
Tire Rack is a vendor here Luke can help you out post in the wheel/tire section, they have many choices

Thanks, Sumitomos will work just fine for me as, I only drive it in nice weather, about 5,000 miles a year. No burnouts, no crazy fast cornering, mainly just cruising.

I got Kumho Exsta 4X for about $100 each. I put about 2500 miles on them so far and really like them.

The BFG G-Force A/S can be had for around $800 'out the door' if available in your size. I really am very impressed with mine on both my Trans Am and C4. The BFG's have been on my T/A for 3 years and about 26k miles and on my C4 for just over a year and 3k miles. Good ride, impressive cornering, and "Made In USA" is just a bonus.

As far as performance goes the Conti's are worth a look as they are about 95% the performance of the Michelins at a much lower price point.

I just put a set of Continental Extreme Contact Sports on. They maybe the best set of tires I have ever had on this car. They Handle Extremely well and are quiet.
I am the original owner of my '94, 23 years. I have had all of these tires on the car...
They age way before they wear.

Original GS Factory Tires
Goodyear F1
Nitto NT555

Ive got a set sitting in my garage that came off of the 96 that i just bought. They are older tires (06 code) but do not have any rot and drove perfectly from LI New York to Cincinnati. I swapped GS wheels onto the car so i do not need these. They would be perfect for a weekend cruiser. The fronts look new and the backs are probably 65-70%

Default Get anything but the Goodyear run flat

Just put Conti Extreme Contact on my 96. Very happy with them, especially their low noise level. The Goodyear run flats so annoying roared at 20 mph

Pretty cheap if you are looking at Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 in 275-40R17 with a "Y" speed rating. Where are you getting that price? Could be interesting. Mine are from Costco for $330
