Need ideas for new set of wheels
I'm fairly new to this forum, but I did find my first Corvette here on the forum and bot it last week: a 95 Torch Red Coupe with 20k miles. Like brand new. While the factory wheels are "ok", I think it could be improved with another style of wheels. I realize the ZR1 wheels are very popular, but I'd prefer to have something a bit more unique.
Any ideas and pictures would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

try looking at oewheelsllc.com. They have a large variety of aftermarket wheels. This is not the best picture but these are replica Stingray wheels on my 88.

If you want to be unique, go with a forged wheel. Can be a monoblock or a 3 piece. Mine are Fikse FM5s. They are 3 piece forged aluminum.
Choices are: Fikse, CCW, Forgeline, HRE, Shelby Series 1, BBS or O.Z.
Are they cheap? No. But that's why I waited for a used set to come up.

I'd qualify that just a little. Most won't require a spacer as long as you get the right backspacing to rim diameter/width. If you stay with standard/common sizes for a particular vehicle then you should be able to find something that will fit just fine without spacers.
with the newer C4's and above having 56mm backspacing, there's a lot more options than on my 86, but I found some that worked out just fine so anything is possible.

You can find these all over Craigslist and at reasonable prices. I think they look perfect on a C4. Would need spacers on the rear of a 1995 I believe. I had to have them front and rear on my 85

I really like the 5-spoke look on a C4. If you're willing to go up to 18"-diameter wheels and tires, I love the looks of the Forgestar CF5 on my car (18x11 et50 all around):
But I also think their M14 would look wonderful, and it gives you the option of a polished rim with a power-coated center section in the color of your choice.

I found a place that would widen a 9.5 sawblade to 11" but keep the 56mm offset for $400. with a 56 offset do you suppose the 315s would fit fine without any rubbing or clearance issues? Do you think the extra 6mm would make a difference?

But hey, it's your car not mine so whatever you like or don't like is what matters.

But here's a question: if they're really going to widen the wheels 1.5" but retain the 56mm offset, it means they have to add 3/4" to the inside and outside halves of the rim. I'm skeptical that they're really going to do that: it seems far more likely they'd plan to add the full 1.5" width to one side or the other, which changes the offset a lot. But if they really are adding to each side, then why can't they make it whatever offset you want? If they made it 50mm, you'd have a unique and proper-fitting set of 11" rear sawblades with GS offset.
