Quirky electrical problems?
I opened the door early this am when I was in the mountains and heard this DING! DING! DING! DING! I had never heard before in the vette...it was a warning that I had left the lights on after taking the key out! Never heard that before. Both of the switches for the back hatch, you know, the ones on the ends of both doors? Sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. They usually either both work or both dont. (They didnt work today) The inside lights sometimes just flicker on while driving at low speed a few times then stop. Oddly enuff this always seems to happen when Im at the ex's house picking up or dropping of fthe kids, hmmm...Sometimes the radio or other misc electrical doesnt turn off when I open the drivers side door. Is this a common malady with vettes or just me? Is there a common cause to it?
Welcome to the world of Corvettes. They do have their little problems. Might be a bad ground or loose connection. I chased a problem for weeks and found a dirty connector. I still can't get the lighting for the A/C controler buttons to work yet when I take it out and test it on the bench the lights work.

I've tracked down several similar problems on my '94, door chimes, interior lights, etc...the type thing that i'd "live with" on any OTHER car...but not my Vette.
Gotta agree with Ocala. It's probably a loose connection or bad ground. Good luck! :D
