I prefer the "Boris" method. He takes special pride keeping an eye on "his" cars.

As some others have mentioned, none of the "home" remedies work. I've tried them all, and none have kept mice out.
A cat will work, but we have dogs ...
I have traps placed out. The traps catch the mice so they don't get into the cars. It's the only thing that has worked for me.

Mice wont live in an area occupied by a cat unless that same area contains the only food source. I used to think the cats just catch them all but that's not really what happens. Instead they leave on their own.

Thank you for reaching out to EarthKind and for being a loyal Fresh Cab customer!
First and foremost, please accept our apologies if we are delayed in replying to your inquiry via the EarthKind website. We had a technical difficulty and just now received your request. The EarthKind team realizes you may have since contacted us via phone or direct email in which we may have assisted to answer your questions. If below is a duplicate, my apologies. We wanted to ensure you were not left without answers and/or wondering where we disappeared to!
Sadly, Fresh Cab is out of stock, but we are working to replenish the supply. Fresh Cab has not been discontinued, but rather on back order due to a supplier issue. Since Fresh Cab is EPA registered, we are awaiting the EPA to register the new supplier. I've added your email to our mailing list so you will be notified once Fresh Cab is available for purchase. In the meantime, we've created a new formula, Stay Away Mice, that works in a similar way.

I use to keep my c4 in a barn back in the day, all kinds of crazy stuff. once had a mouse run up my seatbelt all the way to my shoulder and jump out the window! I think the worst thing that ever happened was when a bad storm came through. I was overnighting at a girls apartment complex and a whole ant mound decided my car was a safe haven from the flood. poor girls bag that she left in the passenger side was full of ants.

I've tried them all. I put out spring traps and they work for awhile, then they disappear, one by one. I tried the bucket trap, or spinner or whatever you call it. I don't have many pails so I use gallon jugs, windshield washer fluid, a cut up soda or beer can, a ramp and peanut butter. The can is coated with peanut butter, vermin walks up the ramp, which also has peanut butter on it, jumps on the can and drowns in the fluid. I got about half a dozen. The next day the traps were licked clean and the ramps were gone. I could not find them. The next day the entire trap, that is the gallon jug with fluid, can and ramp, were gone. The whole damn thing!!! I looked everywhere and can't find it. I'm thinking raccoons. Guess I need a raccoon trap too. DAmn.

last year our cars came under attack by two juvenile squirrels costing over $4000 in wiring damage
...I can't believe that after my youth of woodland county living, that now after 15+ years in a more urban housing development we would suddenly have this type of random terrorist acts from critter sabotage, and repeated!(once they got a taste for Mercedes Benz wiring?)...maybe they were seeking revenge for my Wife running over their uncle or something
...so this can happen to anyone anywhere, any auto
yes; drier sheets and mothballs ... but even the largest 'snap' rat-trap didn't crack their stupid necks(had to stop using after I killed a bird) tho no on the poisons for fear of our dogs finding the carcasses(which they hate those tree climbing punks too)
....they say 'live capture' is the worst for them and the most dangerous for you, and even any type air-powered firearm is outlawed in the city and likely detrimental to house siding windows auto paint etc
so I have managed to keep them at bay; but I will never trust any of them again, and my war rages on...but these suckers seem to have a pretty large roaming territory, neighborhood bird feeders, nesting trees, with reinforcements ready to replace any I manage to take out; so it almost seems like I'm just stuck with the ones I have now that can hold down this area, but have been trained to stay away from our cars

I have used Irish Spring soap for years. I shred it in a cheese grater and put it in small Tupperware dishes by each of the tires, in the engine compartment under the headlights and aluminum foil on the top of the plenum on my 93 and around the runners on my 89. I also put 2 or 3 in the interior on the console and in the back. I take anything the little bastards can use for nesting (paper towels and cleaning cloths) out of the car. This has worked for me for 17 years and I hope I didn't just jinx my luck. The car also smells nice when I open for the season in March or April.
