I run stop tech street pads. They're great. Work well around town, work well on track, dust a bit but not too bad. I have nothing bad to say about them. Can't see running anything else honestly.

Autozone Duralast pads and rotors. Did pads and rotors all the way around for UNDER $200. I'm just about to come up on 10k mi on them and doing great so far.

Wearever Platinum ceramics on the front and Wearever golds on the rear from Advanced. Affordable and effective enough for a street car.

If you want a quality aftermarket pad I recommend the Carbotech 1521 pad. A low dust pad that is rotor friendly and performs like OEM and last longer. 100% non-corrosive dust will not harm your paint or wheels. This pad also contains NRS technology. Carbotech uses NRS technology on all C4, C5, C6 & C7 front and rear brake pads.

Here is a link to explain further what NRS technology is exactly: http://www.nrsbrakes.com

If interested let me know I will be happy to help you.

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

I'm using the Hawk Street Pads (HSP) on the ZR-1.

They perform quite well with less pedal force than stock pads, I find. They get used for occasional drag strip use (1/4 and 1/2 mile events) and some spirited mountain road driving.

They grip well enough to lock up the wheels, setting off the ABS on spirited (not actual racing, mind you) mountain road twisties w/o fading.

They do dust a little, but it rinses right off, and clean up with normal wash mitt and soap.

I love the Hawk HP Plus, friction is what braking is all about.
Yes they make more brake dust, but hey i want brakes that work hard with minimal pedal effort.
They love track workouts, lap after lap after lap after lap.
Where standard brake pads would just disintegrate into pile of powder, the Hawk HP Plus just keep on going.

On street driven cars Hawk HP Plus can squeal sometimes when cold, so for street cars go for Hawk street brake pads.

I'm another Hawk fan. Those plus SS lines made a huge difference in my 86.

I run HPS in my DD, The ghost and also ran it on my 95 and the C5Z06. Once I bought ceramic pads for my DD and they do not brake like the HPS.
