I'm sending a car from NJ to Venice, FL and I'm looking for a reputable car transport company. No open carriers, only closed. Please let me know of your experiences and how much you paid. Thanks so much for you help.
My car collector neighbor (has 12 cars) has had wonderful success with enclosed carriers like Horseless Carriage and Plycon. Horrible experience with Autobahn who 'brokers out' their transports to some real losers. Prices with slightly less mileage (usually the Midwest to NC) run in the $1200 - $1400 range. NJ to south of Tampa is a bit further though so think $1500+. They furnish free quotes when you decide who you might want to try.
** Just a note: This time of year isn't too bad for open transports. The Spring storms are long gone, the FL love bug season should be over, and it's not winter yet, if pricing becomes an issue.
I had an enclosed from Houston(just before Harvey) to Sarasota, FL area door to door which is about the same mileage(1000mi) and it was $900. To a shop/dealer it would have been $25 cheaper. Open trailer was about $275 cheaper which IMHO is not worth the savings. When you ship it, bring me a pizza from Denville Pizza please.
