Changing water pump???
Recieved my new water pump from KoolFlow...
Replacing on an '84.
The manual only show '85 vette and up...
Any hints that will help me...

i think the only difference on water pump change from 84 to 85 was the v-belt serpentine ... and i believe that it was only a partial serpentine setup in 85... so the instructions should be pretty accurate...

Toss an old drop cloth under the car...for all those small nuts and bolts you are going to drop. Then you can just slide it out and collect them all. Make sure all the gasket surfaces are good and clean. Keep tender ears away from you.

I guess the 84's also have the lower radiator hose that's imposible to change by it self. Regardless of the shape, change it when you do the pump. :rolleyes:

Go ahead and get the replacement hoses that go out of the water pump. Some of them will probably be so stuck on the WP that you will probably just want to cut them off. Use new hose clamps too. BE PATIENT!!!! :cheers:
