Hi all. Really enjoy the forum. Been studying for a while in preparation to buy my first Vette. A C4 likely an 89 convertible that I have found. Appears to be priced about right. Question: any advice on this particular model as to what I should be looking for in particular? I have found some general things to be looking for. I found what appears to be a nice one about 90 mi from me. Low miles and appears in good shape in pictures on Craigslist. Seller is a middle aged guy like me. 3rd owner. Normally I would get it looked at by a local mechanic but being out of the area was just wondering about how to do this. Any advice? Really appreciate any comments. Thanks.

Agree with rkj427's suggestion about checking in the regional discussion area to see if a member near to the seller could assist. If not, look in the C4 General area: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-1984-1996-19/ There's a good sticky there- think it's called "The Ultimate C4 Guide" or something like that. Lot of good C4 information there that should help you make an informed decision.
Best wishes with your C4 search.

I had 1989 Corvette for 23 years, and really never had any major problems, it was always faithful to me, getting me there and bringing me home. I put 86,000 miles have fun going to car shows or just cruisin.
Below is picture of mine, sold it for C6!
Call around QUIETLY. Have several places lined up that can do a Pre Delivery Inspection. On a car this old, there might be one or two guys that are familiar with it. Don't tell him where you are talking it yet. If he refuses a PDI, walk.
