Hi all, I need to know how to tell if I'm looking at a D44 OR A D36 a guy has one for sale not to far from me can some one tell me what to look for ? Thanks
How much power do you have?
Do you plan to get traction?
What intake or year car?
What trans do you have?
Do you want coil overs? they are nice if you know how to adjust, but can be worse if not having a real understanding of them.
Hi I have a stock 91 TPI 6spd just looking for lower gears the coil overs come with rear end don't know if I will use them ? Just don't know what its worth?
OP - and your drive-shaft is going to be to short as well as the C-beam.
If you've a '91 M6 it's either a 3.45 or maybe a 3.54 (there has been '91 3.54 builds) appear.
I'd say you leave it where it's at.
If it's complete is it an '88+ with just calipers or is it '87 and earlier with a drum e-brake. If there's information on the shock tubes you could maybe ID them. Much depends on what's actually here.
You need to understand all of this stuff to establish value. Just because there's coils on the shocks it doesn't make it a "premium" package.
I bought a D 44 to replace my 36. I also brought home the drive shaft and the support beam which I was told were a different length than what goes with the 36. I paid 800 bucks for one with less than 36K miles on it. Might be cheaper for you just to buy the pumpkin gears to swap out. best of luck
