Default New shift **** no fit..

Well I was hoping it would fit but I cant seem to find one like this anywhere.
Here is a pic of the original and new, mabey someone can shed some light on it. I bought it from a fellow member .Check it out

I would even be up for modification but it doesn't come apart.
Mabey for a manual stick shift? I may have to get a refund.

The **** appears to be indexed like most of the other GM AT *****. Is there a very thin 'slot' in the ****?

Here's a similar F-body **** for a retention ID. Arrow points towards the 'clip slot'.

It must be a different application heres the pic. It doesn't pull apart. Just in case this happens again.
Will be working on refund this time.
