Wrap it. If the body is in good shape. I have seen some crazy wraps that would of cost $$$$$ to paint. To wrap the car will still cost a few thousand depending on what you choose. You can always change the car in a couple of years if you get bored. I would of wrapped my 86 if I knew better 8 years ago. I did paint my car.
A friend in my Corvette club had her Vette wrapped. Chrome isn't for everyone, but this one came out well. She gets a lot of attention when she drives up!
The interior looks pretty good, too.
It's got me thinking about a wrap for my car. Maybe not chrome, but Admiral Blue would look nice!

I read decades back that Deloreon had to satin finish his cars because the glare on a polished car would be dangerous and illegal. I wonder if these chrome wrap people get flack from the Po-Po?

With everyone running around with blue 1000 watt headlights, I doubt big city cops even give a **** anymore.

I've seen gold metallic wraps, one on a Mercedes. It looked tacky in my opinion, but to each their own.
Just keep in mind when choosing the color of your wrap that the door jambs, under hood etc will remain the color of the car. They can’t wrap a hinge. Maybe you don’t care, but in my opinion, color changes work best on cars that start out white or black...shiny metallic, carbon fiber, flat black etc. will pretty much go on anything.
Bah, to each their own. Kind of like it myself, nice Big logo nobody likes who put on anything non-standard these days.
Thanks for showing some support and forbearance! So many rude and cruel responses!! You'd think that the poster had a rare Callaway. Like most people on this forum, my car is worth (in the marketplace) less than a 5 year old used BMW. I have a great time with it and it doesn't bother me that it's not pristine or that it meets someone else's standards for 'authenticity.'
That chrome wrap isn't for everybody, and the steering wheel is a far cry from the 'authentic' but ugly Vega steering wheel that GM used for a couple of years. BUT it shows that the owner is willing to experiment and think outside the box.
This thread started out focused on vinyl wraps. I'd like to see what others have done with their C4s, so I can get a sense of what it might look like and if it's worth $2-4 grand. I hope somebody who's done a similarly wild wrap isn't scared off by all the negative posts. Let's see what's out there!
Personally, I'd like to see a C4 with a black and white factory 'mule' camouflage wrap. I think that would be cool. I can see it in my mind, but if someone on the forum has the courage to do it, I'd like to see it!
Thanks!
If any of you have been watching the Discovery Channel's show "Murder Isle" (I live in Isle of Wight Co, VA), the green Explorer the main Detective drives around is a liquid wrap job done by a local show here, Dialetik Dips. They quoted me $2300 to liquid wrap my '93 conv. with a black cherry metallic liquid wrap.
