I gotta 1984. I have this weird central lock problem. Drivers side tries to do really really fast open-close movement, but the sylinder only moves like a few mills.
When it doesn't do that and acts normal, doors wont open. If the locks are open and I press lock -nothing happens. But if press unlock they get locked and when locked they cannot be opened but manually. or with key.

You've got to get inside the door and see what is actually happening

I'm sorry, but your description is so confusing I can't follow what's happening. Sounds like your car must be haunted!
FSM means factory service manual. Its printed by GM and is basically a how to fix/replace/repair anything on your car. If the key locks/unlocks the door the cylinders are fine. If you take off the door panels you would be able to see what is and isn't moving and go from there. Simply throwing new parts at it isn't the answer. I would first try wd40 or your favorite spray lubricant on all the door rods/latches/etc and see what happens.

I have service manual but its for 1987. But it have been quite usefull so far. I actually haven't check that yet, that is there an article for this.
Door panels i have removed and sprayed wd40. No help, it just moves "backwards".
Friend of mine also got buttons broke. They're really simple, so gotta check them also.
You probably don't see very many C4's in Finland! Please update your Personal Profile, so we can be more responsive to your requests! We're here to help!
Your lock button that works backward may be because someone installed the wrong button. The button that is closer to the front of the car should be an Un-Lock button. The buttons for the left door and the right door are different.
You will need to experiment to find out where the locking mechanism isn't working smoothly.
I don't know whether the '87 and the '84 circuits are the same, but here's the '84 circuit:
I updated my profile, thnx for the tip. Thank you very much for the schematics. I try with that and let you know whats happening.
Do you have circuit for hatch release also for 1984? That doesn't work from passengers side. So far I measured that there aint coming enough volts there.
(Door locks got 12 volts, so the problem might be wiring or bad button)

The circuit is different for the manual trans and the auto trans cars. What do you have?
If the driver's side hatch release switch works, but the pass. side doesn't, you've got a bad switch, or a bad connection on that side.
I have an automatic.
I measured it. The drivers side is hot all the time like it should be but the passengers side only got like 0.15 volts. Weird thing.
I checked the schematics from that FSM I got and seems pretty simple, but still didn't find any reason for the problem.
Thanks for that schematics I got it work. Maybe previous owner(s) have something own things there but wire colour where different from the button.
But yeah, some contact problem still at the right side. That button opens and locks drivers side but not all the time its own door.
Works only like one time from five tries. Gotta check are there loose wires or something.
