hey guys i heard a rumour that the batmobile in the first two batman movies with micheal keaton was based on a c4 chassis. has anyone else ever heard of this? i have not i knew that the ferarri in miami cie was based off a c4 chassis but knew nothing of a batmobile based on it can anyone shed some light on this?
 I'm pretty sure that the Batmobile in the first movie was made from a Chevrolet Caprice or Impala of like 1975 to 1976 vintage. :D The BIG beeocch!!! I read this way back when the film first came out. :yesnod: And yep, the black Miami Vice Ferrari 365 GTS was a fiberglass kit based on the C3 chassis. Every once and awhile one shows up on Ebay. :)
The "first" Batmobile (with Adam West), was a George Barris custom job, and the base car used was a '56 Lincoln.
Karl
:yesnod: Yes, the Adam West car was the Lincoln Futura show car modified/customized by Barris. The Keaton movie car used the big full size car frame to build that huge monstrosity over!
i dont know about the clooney car of the 90's. it has the fenders of a le mans car but i dont know about the rest. it could be the same car with more stuff glued on it.
Forget the Batmobile... let's all get together and start telling everyone we see that the new Viper is actually a fiberglass kit on a C3 frame... then we all sit back and laugh while we wait and see how long it takes for our new 'urban myth' to spread!!! ha!!!
An interesting automobile has been chosen to promote GM’s OnStar® system, appearing under a typically ambitious schedule of consumer and trade shows throughout North America in 2001. It’s a 1968 Impala. Well, a modified Impala, customized a decade ago for use as Michael Keaton’s Batmobile in Batman.
