1992 Corvette w M6?

The LT4 is the same to work on as the LT1 and is noticeably faster with the SOTP dynamometer. The increased 6400 redline is fun. I'm not a veteran mechanic by any means, but I do everything myself and it's a pretty easy car to work on. Even a 96 is old now so crap will break due to old age.
The only changes I've made to the car is the rims and I've cut out the resonator for an x-pipe. I haven't felt a need to make it faster, which is probably good because it has nowhere near the support the LSX engines have. I enjoy it the way it is now and drive the **** out of it in the summer months because they are cheap enough that I don't feel bad.

Thanks for the insight... I totally agree. Supposed to be chatting with a guy tomorrow... I have moved on from the 92...
Since you asked about M6's, Here's my two cents. I have owned two of them- a 92 and a 93. Both have been relatively trouble free and a lot of fun to drive. the 300HP LT1 gives them enough get-up-and go, and the ZF transmission is strong and smooth shifting. Do take care of the hydraulics in the clutch area. If you don't it can damage the transmission.
Don't worry about putting miles on it. These cars are bargains today, and will still be bargains 10 years from now. It might lower the value of your car by a couple of thousands if you put a 100K miles on it, but isn't it worth it? It certainly is to me!! I drive mine every chance I get.
The LT1 with 6 speed is the best C4 in my opinion. Buy it and enjoy!!

Nice!! that is the kind of Quantitative feedback I am looking for. I am actually visiting w a guy tomorrow with your cars twin.. 92K miles w the Black interior. 6400 redline is nice isn't it...? My C6Z rev's up past 7K....
Things I am considering with CE are 410's, longtubes, massaged heads, mild cam and a tune ( Lloyd Elliot is local to me).
Of course, those would be long term future mods.... There is a guy on youtube in an LT4CE Blasting C6's/Z's in half mile roll racing which is ultimately what I would do with the car.
Feel free to share some pics of that beauty...

I've owned my 96 CE LT4 w/Z51 for almost 3 years and it's pretty hard to imagine owning a different C4. Maybe a ZR1 but that was a pretty large price gap for me to fill at the time.

I drove a 95/M6 for the 5 years; drove it cross-country a couple times.
That car was without a doubt THE best all-round cruiser - especially on long trips. It had decent power and handled quite well. A pure joy to drive, and I wish I had kept it too, when my Z came along.
On long drives, it was always my bladder that determined my stops; NOT discomfort of any kind. The car made me feel like I was in a cocoon.
In fact, my wife and I discovered on our first foray in the 90 ZR-1 just how awful the stock sport seats were! The cure? I bought a pair of base 95 seats and replaced the sport seats with 'em and never looked back. That long riding ability was restored!
The car wasn't without a couple issues that came up, but that was to be expected and were repaired. I bought my first C4 Vette in '02, and still am driving them. They must be doing something right!
